Apple iOS Setup Overview
The following documentation shows the process of getting your iPhone/iPad set up to the eduroam wireless network. The screenshots below are taken from iOS 13, but the process should be identical for older supported versions of iOS.
Step 1
Click the FGCU eduroam configuration portal link to access this tool (this will redirect to an external website hosted by SecureW2 at cloud.securew2.com. This is a trusted website and part of the onboarding process).
Step 2
Tap the “Sign In” button.
Step 3
Type your FGCU network credentials in the username and password fields, then tap “Sign In”.
Note: Faculty/Staff will use @fgcu.edu and Students will use @eagle.fgcu.edu
Step 4
You will be taken back to the SecureW2 portal. Tap “JoinNow”.
Step 5
In the Install Profile screen that appears, tap “Allow”.
Step 6
If you have multiple Apple devices connected, it’ll prompt you on what device to install the profile. Tap “iPhone”. If not, it’ll default to the iPhone.
Step 7
Tap “Close” and navigate to your iPhone Settings app to continue.
Step 8
In your iPhone Settings, tap “Profile Downloaded”.
Step 9
Tap "Install".
Step 10
Enter your device’s passcode, if prompted.
Step 11
A screen will appear asking to install security certificates, tap “Install”.
Step 12
Another screen will prompt you to install the certificate. Tap “Install”.
Step 13
You will be taken to a Profile Installed Screen, tap “Done”.
Step 14
You will now be able to connect to the eduroam wireless network. If you were not moved automatically, please select “eduroam” from your available WiFi networks.
Android 10 (and later) Setup Overview
The following documentation shows the process of getting your Android 10 (or later) set up to the eduroam wireless network.
Step 1
Click the FGCU eduroam configuration portal link to access this tool (this will redirect to an external website hosted by SecureW2 at cloud.securew2.com. This is a trusted website and part of the onboarding process).
Step 2
Tap the “Download” button next to “Google Play Store (App)”.
Step 3
In the SecureW2 JoinNow screen in the Google Play Store, tap “Install”.
Step 4
Once the application finishes installing, tap “Open”.
Step 5
On the FGCU Eagle Access page, enter your FGCU eagle access ID and password, then tap “Sign In”.
Note: Faculty/Staff will use @fgcu.edu and Students will use @eagle.fgcu.edu
Step 6
You will be redirected to the app and it will display a message notifying you that when you select "Next", you will be prompted to save the eduroam network.
Step 7
Select "Save".
Step 8
You will now see a screen that states your device is configured for eduroam.
Note: You can verify if you are connected to eduroam by selecting the "Go To Wi-Fi Settings" button.
Windows Setup Overview
The following documentation shows the process of getting your Windows device set up to connect to the eduroam wireless network. The screenshots below are taken from Windows 10, but the process should be identical for older supported versions of Windows.
Note: To install the needed software, administrator privileges are required.
Step 1
Click the FGCU eduroam configuration portal link to access this tool (this will redirect to an external website hosted by SecureW2 at cloud.securew2.com. This is a trusted website and part of the onboarding process).
Step 2
Click the “JoinNow” button.
Note: The software will automatically detect what version of Windows you’re running on your computer.
Step 3
The software will begin downloading to your computer.
Step 4
When the download has completed, navigate to the folder where the software downloaded and double‑click the “fgcu_eduroam_installer.exe” file to begin the installation process.
Note: You will likely be prompted to verify that you wish to run the file. You need administrative privileges to run this file.
Step 5
Tap “Next” to continue. This will launch the Single Sign-On page in a browser.
Step 6
Type your FGCU network credentials in the username and password fields, then click “Next”.
Note: Faculty/Staff will use @fgcu.edu and Students will use @eagle.fgcu.edu
Step 7
The installation will complete. When finished, click “Done”.
Step 8
You will now be able to connect to the eduroam wireless network. If you were not moved automatically, please select “eduroam” from your available WiFi networks.
Mac OS X Setup Overview
The following documentation shows the process of getting your Mac device set up to connect to the eduroam wireless network. The screenshots below are taken from macOS High Sierra, but the process should be identical for older supported versions of macOS.
Note: To install the needed software, administrator privileges are required.
Step 1
Click the FGCU eduroam configuration portal link to access this tool (this will redirect to an external website hosted by SecureW2 at cloud.securew2.com. This is a trusted website and part of the onboarding process).
Step 2
Click the “JoinNow” button.
Note: The software will automatically detect what version of macOS you’re running on your computer.
Step 3
The software will begin downloading to your computer.
Step 4
Navigate to the download folder and double‑click the “fgcu_eduroam_installer.dmg” file.
Step 5
In the window that appears, double-click the "SecureW2" icon to begin the installation.
Step 6
An alert will appear asking you to confirm that you wish to open the file. Click the "Allow" button.
Step 7
Tap "Next" to continue. This will launch Single Sign-On page in a browser.
Step 8
Type your FGCU network credentials in the username and password fields, then click “Sign In”.
Note: Faculty/Staff will use @fgcu.edu and Students will use @eagle.fgcu.edu
Step 9
A window will appear and ask you to enter your computer's Username and Password. Enter your
credentials, then click the “OK” button.
Note: This requires administrative rights on your computer.
Step 10
A window will appear asking to store your credentials. If you would like to avoid this appearing in the
future, select “Always Allow”.
Clicking “Deny” will stop the installation process and you won't be able to connect to eduroam.
Step 11
The installation will complete. When finished, click “Done”.
Step 12
You will now be able to connect to the eduroam wireless network. If you were not moved automatically, please select “eduroam” from your available WiFi networks.
