What this article covers
2-Factor Authentication (2FA) with DUO Security requires a physical device registered to your account to complete your login process. Four types of devices may be registered:
- Mobile Phone (the recommended device)
- Tablet
- Landline
- One-Time Passcode (OTP) Token (available at the University Help Desk)
- Manage your Duo
To register additional devices please visit the 2FA Device management section.
- If you are registering your Mobile Phone with the Duo Mobile app, please have your App Store ID and password available before you begin the device registration process. While the app is free, the App store may require you to enter your credentials to complete the app download.
- If you are logging into a system that requires 2FA and you have not yet enrolled, you will be prompted to register a device. You must complete device registration before you are able to log in. DUO will ask you for an authentication method the next time you log in to your account; if you do not finish registering a device on initial login you will need to contact the University Help Desk to assist you in accessing your account.
