How to Select Personal Pronouns in Canvas

Purpose:

This article outlines the steps on how to select your personal pronouns in Canvas

 

Steps:

1. In Global Navigation, click the Account link [1], then click the Settings link [2].

2. Click the Edit Settings button.

3. In the Pronouns drop-down menu, select your personal pronouns.

Notes: Pronoun options are managed by your institution. You cannot add pronoun options.

Pronouns currently available are the following:

He/His/Him, She/Her/Hers, They/Them/Theirs, Xe/Xem/Xyr, Ze/Hir/Hirs, Ze/Zir/Zirs

 

4. Click the Update Settings button.

How to View Pronouns

You can view your personal pronouns in your User Settings [1]. Your personal pronouns will also display after your name in many areas throughout Canvas [2].
