This guide will explain the process on how to update/edit your saved password(s) in Google Chrome after changing the password for your FGCU account, either due to having forgotten the password or due to the required password change that occurs every two months.
This process will be completed in two steps.
The First Step – In order to edit your saved passwords, your Google account must be synced on all devices.
- Open the website where you want to update your password.
- Then click on the icon in the top right where your initials are.
- After clicking on the Icon with your initials, you should see a small menu come up. If “Sync is On” is not showing, please select the button “Sync On” so that it is turned on.
The Second Step – Now that Sync has been turned on, it is time to edit your saved passwords.
- Open a Google Chrome browser and type the following address into the search bar at the top: passwords.google.com
- Once typed in, it should bring you to the Password Manager Page which will show all passwords that you have saved within your Google Chrome Browser.
- Next, you will need to click on the site/app that you would like to change the password for.
- After clicking on the site/app it may ask you to sign into your Google Account to confirm. Once that has been completed you will be brought to the following page which is where you will want to click on “Edit” to update the saved password.
- After clicking “Edit”, a new window will pop up and you will be able to enter a new password. After entering a new password click on “Save”.
- Your saved password for that specific site/app has now been successfully updated and saved to the Google Chrome Browser.
