What This Article Covers
This article highlights a quick overview for using our classroom Vaddio-Virtual Streaming Cameras and Microphones (as seen below) on the Zoom desktop application or web browser extension.
In this article, the following topics will be covered:
Note: In this breakdown, I am using Cohen Student Union 214 (CSU-214) as an example of how to set up the camera for use in a Zoom meeting.
Procedure
1. Press the Start button on the touch panel to turn the projector(s) on and drop the projector screen(s).
2. Make sure Room PC is selected from the top menu bar of options to showcase it on the podium monitor. Proceed to tap the corresponding “Send to Display” buttons to send the room PC image to the projector(s) or other display screens in the room
Note: You may need to wake up the PC first by moving the mouse around, or by pressing the keyboard buttons a few times.
3. Log in to Zoom through a web browser (or through the application download & client), and then make sure you select the following options within the Zoom menu settings.
Note: Room abbreviation will differ in every scenario. In this example, you will see "CSU-214" indicating that you are using Cohen Student Union 214's camera setup.
Video, Sound, & Microphone Settings
4. Once you have your sources properly selected, you can adjust the camera position from the touch panel by tapping the Camera button. Then, you will see toggle buttons for moving the camera around and also zooming in/out:
5. As seen below, the camera itself will be located towards the rear sections of the room to further capture a wide angle view of all whiteboards and projector screens. The two pendant microphones are fixed in positions where they will accommodate a full recording of the general classroom space as well, and are usually spaced between the front and back of the rooms accordingly:
Note: The camera and microphones attach to the podium desktop PC via USB. It can ONLY be used by the desktop and cannot be used interchangeably with any other devices brought into the classroom and further connected to the podium.
