What this article covers
This article covers instructions for clearing cache in different browsers and operating systems, and applies to all FGCU faculty, staff, and students. Follow the steps below for the browser you use.
Note: When troubleshooting issues with any site, always exit your browser completely after clearing your cache before attempting to access the site again. In Windows, close all your browser windows; in Mac OS, quit (Command-q) your browser.

- Firefox
- Safari for Mac
- Safari for iOS (iPhone and iPad)
Chrome
- Click the 3 dots in the upper right corner of the browser.
- Select Delete browsing data...
- In the Time range drop-down menu, select All Time.
- From the Advanced tab, select all items to be cleared (e.g., Browsing history, Download history, Cookies and other site data, and Cached images and files).
- Click Delete data.
Edge
- Click the 3 dots in the upper-right corner of the browser.
- Select Delete browsing data...
- In the Time range drop-down menu, select All Time.
- Select the following items to clear: Browsing history, Download history, Cookies and other site data, and Cached images and files.
- Click Clear now.
Firefox
- Click the hamburger menu in the upper-right corner of the browser.
- Click Settings > Privacy & Security.
- Scroll down to Cookies and Site Data.
- Click Clear Data...
- From the When: drop-down menu, select Everything.
- Select History, Cookies and site data, and Temporary cached files and pages.
- Click Clear.
Safari for Mac
- Click Safari in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
- Select Settings or Preferences (depending on your macOS version).
- Go to the Privacy tab and click Manage Website Data.
- Choose Remove All to clear all cache or select specific websites to remove.
Mobile Safari for iOS (iPhone and iPad)
To clear cache, cookies, and history:
- From the home screen, select Settings > Apps > Safari.
- At the bottom of Safari's settings screen, select Clear History and Website Data.
- In the Clear Timeframe list, select All history.
- Click Clear History.
