Software Center is the method Florida Gulf Coast University uses to package and allow software to be installed on FGCU-owned Windows 10 devices without Administrator credentials. To have software available for install via Software Center that is currently unavailable, you must fill out a software install request form. To access one of two ways:
1) Click the magnifier located to the left of the taskbar, start typing "software" in the search box, and Software Center will appear, OR
2) Click the Windows logo button > Scroll through all programs till you see Software Center (If Software Center does not appear contact the University Help Desk).
Click the program you wish to install, then click the Install button. Software Center will install your new software automatically.
If the installation process requires rebooting your computer, Software Center will prompt you to do so. Once the program status changes to Installed you can close Software Center and use the program. If you have to reboot, the program will be ready after rebooting.
