Changing the Default Applications in Windows 10

Purpose:

This document outlines how to change your Default Applications for Email, Photos, Web Browser, etc. and Default Applications for a Specific File Type such as .pdf, .jpeg, etc.

Steps: 

1) Search for Settings. 

2) Select Settings and Windows Settings will open. Select Apps. 



3) On the left panel, select Default apps.  
 


4) You may select your Default App for Email, Photos, Web Browser, etc. from this window!

Default Applications for a Specific File Type such as .pdf, .jpeg, etc.

Steps:

1) Search for Settings. 

2) Click on Settings and Windows Settings will open. Select Apps. 



3) On the left panel, select Default apps.  
 


4) Scroll down until you see Choose default apps by file type and select that option.


5) Select the File Type of your preference to change the default application!
