This article contains information on how to update your Ivanti Secure Access Client.
Note: Before updating your Ivanti Secure Access Client, you must first uninstall any Ivanti Secure software that you may have on your machine.
Uninstalling your Current Version of Ivanti Secure
1. First, click on the Finder icon - most of the time it's located at the bottom-left of your Mac taskbar.
2. From Finder, Click Applications.
3. Find Pulse Secure in the Application List.
4. Hold down Control on your keyboard and click Pulse Secure, then select Move to Trash.
Note: If you receive an error stating that Pulse Secure is currently running, hold down the Control key and click Pulse Secure at the bottom of your taskbar, and click Quit.
5. Once Pulse Secure is successfully moved to the Trash, open your Trash, and verify Pulse Secure is inside your Trash Bin. Click Empty.
6. A dialog box will appear to confirm the deletion of the contents in the trash, click Empty Trash.
7. Once all Pulse Secure entries are removed, restart your computer.
Installing the Updated Pulse Secure Access Client
1. On your non-office computer, go to https:/fgcu.edu/its using your preferred browser - Google Chrome is recommended (Note: Internet Explorer WILL NOT work.)
2. Under the "Connecting Remotely & Working From Home" heading, click the visit the Knowledge Base link. Click the Work From Home - Preparing to be Away link.
3. Under the Setup MyVPN section in the last paragraph click the bolded word client.
4. Log in to Ivanti Connect Secure Access using your FGCU Eagle Access ID (usually your e-mail address - i.e., user@fgcu.edu)and password. Following the prompts to complete a DUO Push authentication.
5. The Host Checker will then display following authentication. Select the Open PulseApplicationLauncher button from the dialog box. We also recommend checking the Always all myvpn.fgcu.edu to open links of this type in the associated app checkbox.
6. A screen will display asking you to download the application launcher to proceed. Click the Download button.
7. Once the application launcher has downloaded, follow the prompts on the screen to complete installation. Click PulseSecureAppLauncher.dmg to open the folder.
8. Click the downloaded PulseSecureAppLauncher.mpkg file.
9. Click the Install button from the Pulse Secure Application Launcher dialog box. Follow any on-screen prompts to install Pulse Secure.
- Remember to select "remember" and "always" when prompted during the installation process.
10. You may be prompted to move the Pulse Secure Application Launcher Installer to the Trash. Click the Move to Trash button.
11. If a new window prompts with a message about opening PulseApplicationLauncher select Always allow myvpn.fgcu.edu to open links of this type in associated app and click the Open PulseApplicationLauncher button.
- If a new window prompts with a message about an untrusted server, select Always.
12. Pulse Secure completes the installation download (notice that the window now reads "Ivanti" in the top-left corner of the screen).
13. Following the installation, you will receive a prompt informing you that a Chromium embedded browser needs to be installed via the Client application. Click OK to start the installation.
14. Once installed, the Ivanti Connect Secure screen will be displayed. Click the Start button to the far right of the "Ivanti Secure Access Client" listing. Then log in using your full FGCU Eagle Access ID (usually your e-mail address - i.e., user@fgcu.edu) and password.
14. Ivanti Secure Access Client will open up and show that you have established a connection with myvpn.fgcu.edu
