What this article covers
This article covers instructions for how to operate the podium technology upon entering a classroom. In this article, the following will be covered:
- Starting the Touch Panel
- Projecting Content
- Using the Classroom Camera
- Leaving the Room/Turning Off a Projector
Starting the Touch Panel
You will be asked if you would like to “Start the System" first. Proceed to touch the screen to select either the Continue button or the Start button. In some rooms, it may take a while for the button press to power up the room equipment. The screen will state that the “System is busy…” until it is ready for use in those cases.
Note: Touch the screen if it is black/asleep to wake it back up.
Projecting Content
1. Choose from the row of input sources on the top of the touch panel screen (#1).
2. Once selected, this will display the selected source on the monitor located on the podium.
3. To have that same image presented to the classroom, proceed to touch one of the "Send to Display" options (#2) to send that same image to the classroom projector(s)/display(s).
Note: Not all classrooms have multiple projectors.
Using the Classroom Camera
To adjust your classroom camera (located on the ceiling towards the back of the room), tap the Camera icon located near the main power button. Depending on what you need, you can select "Podium Preset" which will provide a view of the podium. You can also select the "Wide Preset" which will provide a view of the podium as well as the whiteboard. Alternatively, you can use the camera controls on the left side to adjust it as needed.
Leaving the Room/Turning Off a Projector
To turn off the room's presentation equipment, press the universal power button from the bottom left-hand corner. A confirmation message will appear asking if you want to shut down the room.
Note: For rooms with multiple projectors, you also have the option to turn off an individual projector from this "shutdown" menu.
