Encrypting files using 7-Zip

1. If you do not already have 7-Zip:
   1. Open a browser and go to https://myapps.fgcu.edu
   2. Log in using your Eagle Access ID and your current password
   3. Find 7 zip in the list of applications and select Launch (Figure 1 – Launching 7-Zip from AppsAnywhere)
2. If you already have 7-Zip, simply open it
3. In the 7-Zip window, navigate to the location you have the files you want to encrypt
4. Select the files you want to encrypt and click Add
5. In the Add to Archive wizard, set the following settings (Figure 2 – Add to Archive wizard):
   1. Pick the name & location you want to save the file to under Archive by using the ellipsis
   2. Archive format to ZIP
   3. Encryption method to AES-256
   4. Enter and confirm the password for the file
6. Select OK
7. The encrypted file will be stored in the location you chose in step 5
