MS TEAMS
OVERVIEW
MS Teams at FGCU is where people, including those outside of our organization, can actively connect and collaborate in real time to get things done. It will improve how we interact with each other digitally, increasing collaboration, productivity, and overall engagement.
The goal is to integrate services such as instant messaging, voice and video calling, virtual meetings and classrooms, team collaboration channels, content sharing and more, via one unified platform.

SAFEGUARDS TO PREVENT AND STOP DISRUPTIONS
- Share your meeting links only with invited guests. Don't share your meeting links publicly (e.i., social media).
- Utilize Meeting Options feature to disable other participants from sharing their screen and restrict access to the meeting.
- Be wary of admitting unknown guests (if an unknown guest is admitted and removed from the meeting, they will be able to re-enter the meeting without needing to be re-admitted).
DATA PRIVACY
- Owners of Teams must review and comply with University Technology Use Policy.
- Teams channels are set to private by default. This means members need to be added by the owner for them to see the team and all of its contents. If the team is set to public, anyone within the FGCU system can see the team and its contents and members.
